Post Natal Depression is different from the Baby Blues. It usually appears in the first 4-6 weeks after childbirth, although it can take several months.

Around 1 in 10 women suffer from PND. If you feel that something is not ‘quite right’ and you’ve been down for some time, it’s a good idea to share your feelings with someone. If you don’t feel you can talk to your GP or Health Visitor, chat to your partner or a friend if you can. It’s important to get help. Your friends and family can support you and play a big part in your recovery, so you don’t have to feel you need to deal with it on your own. Talking about your feelings can help you cope with them. You’re not alone – there are lots of women in the same boat and help is out there.
