Found it difficult to find a group to go to other than mother and toddler and breast feeding groups. I now take my wee munshkin to Musical Minis and a swim class - they are fab! The music class encourages listening and singing it includes action songs, stories with puppets, musical instruments and generally a good place to encourage both parent/carer and child to socialise.

I'm one of the Bookstart Co-ordinators for North Ayrshire. We run free Bookstart Rhymetime sessions in our libraries within North Ayrshire. The session consists of half hour of songs, rhymes and a story followed by half an hour of free play. Children aged 0-5 years are welcome as long as they are accompanied by their parent or carer. I'm not sure about the sessions run by East Ayrshire, so if you wanted to contact them the number is 01563 555457.
