When your child comes home from nursery or the childminder, try setting aside some quiet time to chill out together. If you’re watching TV, talk to your child about what you see, and ask questions afterwards. It’s a great way to have a cosy chat and re-connect with your child after a busy day. It’s great for them too.
Your child is developing new words faster than you can say ‘Teletubbies’ and talking to them helps them to learn even more. It sounds incredible, but by the age of 3, children already have half the language skills that adults do. So your little after- work chats on the sofa could soon develop into really rewarding conversations! |
