Swishy dishy

What you need:
Unbreakable plastic cups and/or plates
Warm water and suds
A chair for your child to stand on

OR a large bowl for the floor

You can make your own simple ‘waterproof’ apron.

Keep Safe: Toddlers can stand on a high-backed chair as long as they’re steady on their feet. But it’s a good idea to stand close nearby in case they fall off.

What to do:

If you’re ever sunk for play ideas – just think sink!  Your wee one has probably seen you washing up, so why not let them ‘do the dishes’? Your toddler will really enjoy splashing and swishing dishes in the water with suds galore. Or, if it’s easier, try putting a large bowl, filled with warm water, on the kitchen floor. This way you can get on with the chores and keep an eye on the wee one at the same time.

Keep Safe: Try to make sure you’re always close to your child when they play with water.
