Green goop

play_green_goop2What you need:

1 cup of cold water
2 cups of cornflour
Large bowl
Wooden spoon

A few drops of green food colouring

Old clothes (or an apron).

What to do:

Why do kids like things that look yucky – or, better still, feel yucky too? This green, slimey goop is as nifty and thrifty for you as it’s squidgy and squashy for wee ones.

It’s a good idea to put newspaper on the table or cover up with aprons for this one! You put the water and food colouring into the bowl, then slowly add the flour. Keep stirring the mixture with a wooden spoon. If your wee one is interested, they could hold the spoon handle too. When all the water is mixed with the flour, you have goop! Your little scientist can roll and squeeze it to their heart’s content, and if it dries out, just add some more water.
