Get stuck in!
Sandy beach
Play Sand (from children’s play shops) A deep filling tray/plastic box Bucket/plastic cup
Keep safe: It’s dangerous to use builder's sand: it could contain cement.
What to do: It’s like having a day at the beach – without leaving home! Fill a large flat tray with play sand you’ll provide heaps of fun for your toddler and you, if you feel like getting stuck in. You can try adding some water and let your wee one feel the difference between wet sand and dry sand. You could also build sandcastles and pretend you’re on the beach, maybe even have a wee picnic – even if it’s raining outside.
