Shakers

What you need:

Old plastic bottles (with tops)
Uncooked rice

Dry pastaplay_shakers2

What to do:

“Shake it, shake it, baby now!” Maybe the Beatles had something else in mind when they sang their version of ‘Twist and Shout’. But making a shaker for your wee one is sure to be a big hit. Try filling empty plastic bottles with different things from the cupboard – rice or pasta, or anything that rattles, like dried beans or peas. When you shake it, each jar will make a different sound. You could show your toddler how to shake and listen. Then you both can try shaking them in time to music, as you dance! Before you know it, you'll have the next John Lennon under your roof.
