Rock cakes

“Are you ready to rock?”

 

What you need:

225g self-raising flour

110g butter or margarine

55g sugar

100g raisins

2 eggs

 

What to do:

 

    1. Set the oven to 200˚ (Gas 6). While it’s heating up, you can put the flour and butter into a large bowl.
    2. With your toddler, have a go at rubbing the mixture together between your fingers, until it feels like bread-crumbs.
    3. Then you can both mix in the sugar and the raisins.
    4. Using a fork you can then beat the eggs together in a separate bowl, then stir them into the mixture.
    5. After that, it’s a fun game to shape the mixture into small balls with your hands.
    6. Nearly ready! You can put the balls onto a greased baking tray and bake for 15 minutes. It’s a good idea to make sure they’re cool before you touch them.
