Playing with toddlers

‘Hi, I’m playing beside you but not with you.’

Before they learn to play together in a group, toddlers often play alongside other children. You can see them sitting together and it may look like they’re playing together but they’re each doing their own thing. (It’s called parallel play.)

You might find your toddler enjoys playing with one other child, though, as long as you’re near.
