That doesn’t mean you need to be up at 6am to start reading – though if you’re both up anyway it might be a way to help settle them down.

Starting early is simply about sharing books early in life with your little bundle of joy. They might not know what a book is yet but it will help you to bond with your baby and they’ll find your voice lovely and soothing. The earlier you start reading together, the earlier they’ll start learning.
